I was the co-stylist and co-lead of the 10-year gala fashion show.
The G.O.O.D. (Growth Out of Dance) Project is a dance team I was part of for three years, and continue to stay actively involved as an alum. For the team’s ten-year gala, my partner Justin and I led a fashion show where we reimagined ten past performance costumes. We had current and alumni members of the company model and showcase our designs on the runway in front of 200+ attendees. This project lasted from May 2024 to Aug 2024.

Sketching & Solidifying the Outfits
We shared our styling ideas with Jedd (the designer), and he drew the sketches for each outfit. Through discussions, we refined the looks together, making adjustments until we finalized the designs.
Justin and I visited various clothing stores, thrift shops, and material suppliers both in person and online to find materials and clothes for the outfits. We focused on sustainability by using clothes we or our friends already had, and sourcing mostly second-hand items. Jedd upcycled several pieces, adding materials to transform them, while Ciara handled the tailoring.
Over the course of 2-3 weeks, Justin, Jedd, Ciara, and I divided the models between us and met with them for fittings. We made adjustments to the outfits as needed to ensure the best fit.

Justin and I were featured in the magazine as well!
Magazine work done by Bri Bui
After months of intricate planning and hard work, we finally showcased all our carefully curated outfits on the runway during the gala, in front of 200+ attendees!
Since we're a dance team, Justin and I had the models walk to the music from the performances the outfits were inspired by, and Justin incorporated some choreography into their walks, adding a unique and memorable touch to the show.
The show was a success, and my team and I were thrilled to have played a part in making the gala a memorable night.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making the fashion show a success. Their creativity, hard work, and dedication brought this vision to life.
Special appreciation to our designer, tailors, models, video editor, photographers, custom painter, and of course, the gala committee—this wouldn’t have been possible without them!
