Frame in Field Photoshoot

A fun photoshoot concept and outfits I collaborated on with my friend and partner.

Concept

My photographer friend, my partner, and I explored an artsy photoshoot in nature in April 2024. My partner and I came up with the outfits while my friend and I came up with the photoshoot concept.

Ideating Concept, Place, & Outfits

Jason and I first brainstormed the photoshoot concept and location, drawing inspiration from the way landscapes are often framed in art. The idea was to create a real-life painting that plays with dimensions and perspective. Justin and I then worked on the outfits, focusing on layered looks and incorporating light, earthy tones to complement the concept.

Building the Frame Prop

Next, it was time to source the most essential element of the photoshoot—the physical frame. Jason found this beautiful frame at a thrift store and deconstructed it, adding a custom wood holder on the back to ensure it could stand upright.

Photoshoot in Two Locations

We shot in an open field with beautiful mountains in the background and a nature trail at a nearby nature center. The photos turned out great, capturing the the concept and highlighting our outfits really well.
